Your PDFs

When you check a PDF, it is opened and analyzed by code running in your own browser tab. The file, its name and its contents are never uploaded to PacketReady or to anyone else. To do the analysis, the page downloads two open-source libraries (PDF.js and pdf-lib) and some font data from this website; those requests contain nothing about your documents.

Results stay in the page until you close it or press Clear results. Reports and CSV files you download are created on your device. If you use "Copy summary", the text goes to your clipboard only.

The "Try a sample packet" button downloads three fictional sample PDFs from this website.

Analytics (Portfolio Pulse)

We measure how the site is used with Portfolio Pulse, a small first-party analytics service that we run ourselves. It works like this:

• No cookies. Pulse does not set cookies.
• A random ID in local storage. Your browser stores a random identifier (pulse_vid) in localStorage so we can count returning visitors. It is not set when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, and our server drops it for visitors in the EU, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. A second random ID in sessionStorage (pulse_sid) groups events from the same browser tab.
• No IP addresses stored. The server uses a one-way hash of your IP address and the date, briefly and in memory only, to limit abuse. It is not stored.
• What is recorded: the page path, your country (as reported by our hosting network), the device class (mobile, tablet or desktop), the referring website's hostname, any campaign tags in the link you followed (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign), and the time.
• Tool events: when a check finishes we record counts only, such as how many files and pages were checked and how many results fell into each category, plus whether the files came from you or from the sample packet. We also record clicks on some buttons, report and CSV downloads, and use of Copy summary. File names, file contents and anything you type are never included.
• Retention: raw analytics events are deleted after 400 days; daily totals are kept.

The checker also keeps a one-time "activated" flag in sessionStorage so that the first check in a browser session is counted once. It disappears when you close the tab.

If the analytics script is blocked by your browser or an extension, everything on the site still works.

Contact and remediation forms

If you send a form, we receive what you type: your email address and, if you provide them, your name, organization, role, organization type, approximate page volume, meeting platform, deadline and message. We use it only to reply and follow up about your request. We do not sell it or share it with advertisers. We keep it as long as needed for the conversation and delete it on request through the contact page. A hidden field on each form helps us filter automated spam.

Hosting

The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and the analytics service runs on Cloudflare Workers. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect against attacks, under its own privacy policy.

Other things to know

• We do not use advertising or third-party tracking scripts.
• The site is not directed at children.
• If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
